Researchers tested 67 different people with two specific types of orthotic for eight weeks. One type was a customizable Powerstep™ orthotic device; the other was a Powerstep™ orthotic out of the package. Both relieved pain at the end of the eight weeks. 1. Low back pain after an accident – One chiropractic research study out of Canada studied 66 patients who had chronic low back pain after a car accident three months earlier. Thirty patients received standard chiropractic care and analgesics while another group of 34 patients received standard chiropractic care plus customized foot orthotics.

At 8 weeks, both groups of patients had improved, but the group of patients who also received the orthotics had a lower disability score and only a small number of them took analgesics.
